My attempt at recreating the throne from MLP;FIM ep.2 prior to its ruin.

This was quite awkward of course because in the few parts when it is visible it changes dramatically.

But I'll give this the good ol' stamp of 'good enough'.

I'm still not sure if I should have added the tree that grew behind it, but I just went with removing all the indoor foliage.

It's amazing you got all of this out of the ruins in the show. I would love to see the whole castle back in it's hay day, and why they don't use it anymore.

personally i thought there should be two thrones side-by-side, one of carved ebony with silver inlay and the other of carved purpleheart with gold inlay.

Oooh! Shiny! Seems to have a really great mix of architectural styles, almost like a Modern Greek look, if such a thing exists. And if not, it does now!

Ugh yeah don't remind me about changing backgrounds. This is amazing, tho. I hope we get some flashback sequence where this is referenced, since it looks like it would've been pretty on it's heyday.

And when you pull one the torches, the entire dais moves to reveal a hidden staircase beneath it that leads to a cursed tomb/secret lab/ancient library! :D Really, though, this is lovely.

This is a lovely reconstruction, or really mostly pure construction, of what the ancient ruins used to be. I'm amazed at how much you detail you found in the dilapidated castle to make such a lovely version of its former opulent glory. Even after re-watching those bits a few times I still can't quite tell if that's big enough for both sisters to recline on together, but considering Celestia's throne I'm wondering if there was some sort of trade-off at each rising and setting. It looks very stately and also airy, like a functional court where it needs to be impressive but not so ornate that it's distracting. The pillows and backing look especially comfortable with the detailed highlights.

What was the source or inspiration for the center finial on the throne? (For some reason it makes me think of the comic Sinfest.) Is it from elsewhere in the series or something else? (I didn't see it while re-watching just now, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was there either. I should have been asleep hours ago. :))

Anyway, it looks marvelous. Thanks.
